Norfolk County Council has commissioned DrinkCoach to offer free, confidential online
alcohol coaching for residents who wish to reduce their drinking.
What’s available:
- Up to six free 40-minute one-to-one coaching sessions
- Delivered online by qualified alcohol treatment specialists
- Uses Extended Brief Interventions and Motivational Interviewing techniques
recommended by NICE - Sessions available weekday, evenings, and weekends
- Coaching is tailored to individual goals—whether reducing intake or quitting altogether
How it works: Participants begin by taking the DrinkCoach Alcohol Test to assess their
drinking risk level. If eligible, they can self-refer and book sessions directly online. Coaching is
delivered via secure video calls, with no travel or waiting lists.

- On average, users report 36% fewer drinking days, and 71% fewer units consumed
per month
Eligibility:
The service is aimed at individuals identified as increasing or higher-risk drinkers. Norfolk

Free support is also available from CGL for individuals struggling with alcohol dependence or
