Appointments

All patients requesting to see a doctor are added onto the ‘triage list’ for a call back from a practitioner. The doctor will initially contact you by telephone and will discuss and review your condition. They will agree the best course of treatment which may or may not include a face to face appointment. They will assess the urgency of the problem and allocate the patient to the most appropriate medical professional for treatment.

For routine appointments please call 01842 752285 between 08:30 and 12:00 noon Monday to Friday. Alternatively complete our online form via the Consulting Room.

Urgent Consultations

If you ring the surgery for an urgent consultation, please provide our trained and skilled receptionists with enough information to pass through to our medical team. They only ask questions that we the Doctors have requested. In this way, the need and degree of urgency regarding your condition can be clinically assessed.

Home Visits

We realise home visits are sometimes necessary. However, they do take our doctors three times as long to undertake as a surgery consultation. Potentially limiting our ability to see as many patients as we would like.

Please telephone to request a visit before 10:30 and be prepared to provide the receptionist with details of your symptoms.

A member of our team may call you back to offer advice, provide an estimated time of visit or alternatively request that you attend the surgery.

Online Services Appointments

Appointments can be viewed, made or cancelled using our online services, SystmOnline. In order to sign up to this service, you will need to complete our Register for Online Services form and then come into the practice to provide ID to complete the registration.

Clinical Photographs

Photos sent to the practice may be stored on the patient’s record. If you have any specific objections, please contact the practice immediately.

Cancellations

It is important that you let us know if you need to cancel your appointment so that it can be booked by another patient.

Please note, patients who repeatedly miss their appointments and do not let us know that they will not be attending may be removed from our practice list.

Please read our policy in our Missed Appointments page.

Alternatives to Booking a GP Appointment

It is not always necessary to come to the surgery and there may be alternatives to requesting an appointment. Please visit our Treatment Room or Wellbeing Centre for information about self help and minor illnesses or injuries.
