We do try to offer flexibility out of normal working hours to our patients. Saturday morning and evening telephone and face to face appointments are added on a rotational basis but are for pre-booked appointments only. The receptionist is unable to deal with any other queries during the Saturday and evening clinics.
If you are booked in to attend a Saturday clinic and cannot attend on the day, please ensure you cancel online as our phone service is not open at weekends. To access our online services you will need to be registered Click Here for information.
You can also contact NHS 111 Service on 111 at any time of the day.
NHS 111 Service
In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call NHS 111 Service (111) to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.
Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
You should use the NHS 111 service if you urgently need medical help or advice but it's not a life-threatening situation.
Call 111 if:
For less urgent health needs, contact your GP or local pharmacist in the usual way.
For immediate, life-threatening emergencies, continue to call 999
Please refer to the Out of Hours Service or 111 during all other times that the Surgery is closed.
The Surgery now offers a new phlebotomy service. All blood tests will be taken at the Thetford Healthy Living Centre. This will be a sit and wait service between 8:30am and 12 Noon, you will no longer need to call your surgery to make an appointment for this. As this is a joint phlebotomy service with School Lane, we cannot guarantee that you will see a nurse or health care assistant from your own practice. By attending the joint phlebotomy service, you are consenting to staff from Grove or School Lane Surgeries accessing your medical records to treat you as a part of this service.
Please ensure that you telephone us or come in to the Surgery (after 2pm) one week after your blood test for your results.
